Good Design VIII - Gherkin by Norman Foster

This building in London, designed by Lord Norman Foster is considered a modern architectural marvel. The design is eye-catching, unusual but what amazes me more is the execution of the design.

Cities need phalluses too. Delhi (Qutub), Paris (Eiffel), Pisa..or entire Italy (The Leaning Tower..:-))...wonder if that makes Italians the best lovers), NY & Mumbai (Countless). Till now London had one old aristrocratic tight-upper lipped one (Big Ben), with its culture becoming more melting pot than the Big Apple nowadays, it seems a new cocky (pun intended) phallic symbol was in order. And Bingo!

lol...I guess the British outdid others, where the shape of the symbolic phallus is concerned...
